Lori Residence
Renovation
This residence in Boca Raton, Florida, was redesigned to transform a compartmentalized layout into a fully open and integrated living environment, creating continuous flow between kitchen, dining, and living areas with enhanced light and long sightlines.
The kitchen is the central element, organized around a large island that works as both workspace and social hub. A structural column within the island was maintained and transformed into a custom wood wine display. Open shelving keeps the space light and connected, while two kitchen options, light wood and darker brown wood, were developed to study different atmospheres within the same design.
Exposed wood beams and a lowered soffit with integrated lighting define the kitchen without breaking the openness. The project also included a refined master bathroom renovation. The column rhythm was designed to balance and visually distribute a single structural column, avoiding an isolated element and creating a more cohesive and aesthetic result.
