Itaipava Residence

I designed and led the construction of this two-story, four-bedroom colonial-style residence in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro. Three bedrooms are located on the second floor, along with a mezzanine-level family room, while the first floor is organized as a social living area integrated with the swimming pool. Large windows throughout the house enhance the stunning views of the Itaipava mountains.

The project was conceived as a new construction carefully integrated into a sloped site, balancing a traditional architectural language with a contemporary spatial organization. The layout promotes both functionality and openness, creating a strong connection between interior spaces and the surrounding landscape.

The construction gently follows the natural slope of the terrain, requiring minimal earthwork. Variations in floor levels not only respond to the site conditions but also create a dynamic spatial experience, offering changing perspectives throughout the house.
