Senkai Restaurant
Historic Building Conversion
I designed Senkai Restaurant in Grajaú, Rio de Janeiro, in partnership with architect Patricia Almeida.
The client owned a historic two-story building on a triangular lot, a geometry that made the layout especially challenging. Triangle sites demand precision, and every square meter was carefully studied to ensure the space remained functional, fluid, and efficient.
We positioned the kitchen and storage within the existing mezzanine, enclosing the space to optimize operations. The second floor was designed to expand the dining experience, incorporating additional seating and a more private VIP area.
Today, Senkai remains one of the most popular and well-established restaurants in Grajau, a project that demonstrates how thoughtful planning can transform complex spaces into vibrant, lasting destinations.
